ABOUT US

Who We Are

Here at Wetley Moor Alpacas we started with the simple idea of bringing you personal, unique and enjoyable alpaca experiences. We are a small family run business and as such we put lots of love and careful thought into everything we do. We hope you enjoy sharing our beautiful boys with us.

We are a small team which started with just 2 of us, mother and daughter duo; Ruby and Fay. As a Biology graduate, Ruby has a love of all animals and during the covid pandemic she found a true love of alpacas. We have since expanded our team to include Emily, Beth, & Teresa alongside a group of volunteers. We are all passionate about our alpacas and will be happy to answer any of your questions during your experience.

The alpaca heard started with just 3 boys, Vinnie, Rusty and Boris but has since grown our herd to 18+ trekking alpacas, and a small herd of breeding females kept at our barns in Eccleshall.

Our Team

Meet our walk leaders who will be leading your experiences. They are all friendly, knowledgeable and happy to answer any of your questions about the alpacas!

SUSTAINABILITY

Here at Wetley Moor Alpacas we care about sustainability and our impact on the environment.
We aim to source as much of our stock for our shop as locally as possible and use local crafters in the village to produce some of our gifts.
We make use of every part of our alpaca by-products using the best parts of the fleece to make wool and bedding. Fleece seconds are used in our craft projects, and for animal bedding and insulation. The alpaca manure also gets used as garden fertiliser, and made into fire bricks.
We have recently installed a composting toilet which runs completely off grid and the lights are powered by solar energy.
We continue to find new ways to reduce our impact on the environment and hope to source more and more of our products locally.

ACCESSIBILITY

Our Policy

We want to make sure that our experiences are accessible for all at Wetley Moor Alpacas.

Due to the nature of the Moor land walks may not be suitable for those that use a wheelchair or who struggle walking for long distances.

In these cases we would recommend our meet and greet experiences on our farm where you will be able to meet, feed and walk our alpacas in our enclosed arena which has a solid flat ground which is suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs and walking frames.

If you have additional needs please contact us directly to discuss your requirements and we will try our best to make your experience possible.
